| | Elliot Smith -- Bye | ] | Not updated this thing in bloody ages. Sorry about that. So I think I'll tell you something vaguely interesting about something I saw yesterday.
I was in Virgin, and looking at the clearance rack of £1.99 CDs (I've bought loads of good CDs from these clearances before) and I saw something with really cool packaging, but had no idea of the musical content. I nearly bought it, but I didn't have enough cash on me. I thought nothing more of it for the rest of the day (which included getting a free doughnut because the store lady felt so embarrassed when she thought I was a girl, watching someone barter with Costa Coffee to buy one of their mugs from them as a present for someone and buying a birthday present for Nathan [which is not, I can assure, a Costa Coffee mug]) until I got home and finally got 'round to installing the last.fm radio player.
last.fm, for those of you who don't know, is a website which logs what music you listen to (my profile can be found here) and then recommends music to you based on what it's logged. It plays the recommended music to you and asks you to tell it whether or not you like it and so on and keeps on recommending stuff. It's pretty cool, I recommend it.
But, anyway, guess what it decides to play?! A track from that very CD I had seen earlier that day in Virgin Megastore. And it was a good track. Not only this, but the band (Esmerine) shares members with Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion and Set Fire To Flames, three of my favourite bands. In addition to this, the record was distributed through Southern Records, with whom I have an interview for an internship this coming Wednesday.
I'm going out to buy the CD in just a moment. |

| Zero Gravity What? |
[May. 25th, 2006|06:10 am] |

| | ASMZ -- Take These Hands and Throw Them In The River (Live) | ] | I had quite an odd dream last night. It started (I think, they may have been more stuff further back than this, but if there is I cannot remember it) with mother, sister and I in a plane with some woman and her dog. Her "Zero Gravity Dog".
And so she said some stuff and then we jumped out of the plane (no parachutes, but this didn't seem to matter) and this little dog she had was spinning around in the air. And doing tricks. Which was quite cool. In fact, now that I think about it, it looked a lot like my aunt and uncle's dog called Benji. Doesn't explain why they called it a zero gravity dog when it was blatantly feeling the effects of gravity whilst falling to the ground...
But yes, then we landed (on a little island in the middle of a pond, with someone from school explaining that this was the reason he brought me to that pond yesterday evening. It was funny that he should mention that, really, since I do remember a recent dream (it may have been within the same dream or another dream tonight, but I think it was a couple of nights ago and now I'm just reminded of it) where the same guy taking me to the same (or near enough the same) place because he knew that I'd be landing there when I jumped out of the sky with no parachute?
Anyway, we then went off to a little down, villagey thing, which was kind of like a cross between a typical Northern Continental town and an English one. I think we were looking for somewhere to get breakfast, but everywhere was closed because it was 7am. There were two police officers sitting on an orange sofa outside this café and I realized that I had also been to -this- place before in a dream. I think I ate in the café in the previous dream. Had a piece of cake or something.
And that was more or less it. I have an odd feeling that this littly towny place will keep on reoccuring in dreams over the coming weeks and months. No idea why. Perhaps I will have running plot dreams, something I have always wanted. |

| | The Arcade Fire -- Haiti | ] | So yeah, I haven't made an entry in bloomin' ages so here I am right now to tell you of an odd dream I had during my sleep last night.
Well, actually, y'know, I cannot remember that much of it. But I was there, and so was Nathan and we were in some sort of ALMIGHTY SHOPPING CENTRE of SHOP VARIETY DOOM and we were looking around the clothing shops for all cool things to wear. The bit I remember most vividly was this weird clothing shop which was (presumably) really expensive as most of the clothes were in displays, being worn by like, metal outlines of humans doing things like sitting at tables outside a café, or I think one of them was dancing people, y'know, people with linked arms at a hoedown or something. The clothes were all really nice, and there was a sign saying "Employees Wanted" in the window, and Nathan pointed at it and said something.
So yes, an insight into my weird mind of poncy designer clothes stores. |

| | Orbital -- Nothing Left (part two) | ] | Don't look down The view might sweep you off your feet The beauty and the flowers Are so damn sweet They keep you going and going And marching and marching Through bedrooms of static And walls of denial
Oh! The distance! The ocean of plenty With water so clear The reflection is empty And all of it shining With tender loving care Glinting in your eyes Just to keep you hanging there
Look at yourself Getting older and older And bigger and bigger And bolder and colder Walking so downtrodden Speaking so lost And growing and growing Whatever the cost
Sprawling branches And mazes of sticks And young dogs pining To relearn old tricks Blades of grass blowing And sliced off by weather Little girl skipping And playing with feather
Tiny hand dangling And stream water dripping Contented chuckles And rose petals tipping Hand dragged off home To cobwebbed tiny room Crawling unsheathed And fearing the broom
And all of it is beautiful And all of it is wonderful
You'll grow up one day And everyone will love you And you'll be showered with hope Just because they think of you And all of you is beautiful And all of you is wonderful And all of you is beautiful And all of you is wonderful |

| Standard Muddy Walk On Bright Open Day |
[Mar. 17th, 2006|09:27 pm] |
I woke up and I stumbled through a dirty field, Its mud churned beneath my feet. Maggots writhed, writhed and writhed, But life was unrelentingly sweet.
Caught off guard and stumbled empty. Boot plodded, shod in mud. Pulled it out, out and out; Maggots burning all I loved
And motionless toes they cried red tears, I was falling away and I was falling so fast. Tears tearing away, away and away, Dripping in mud, each heavier than the last.
A bleak and ineffectual voice spoke from the sky And it broke words so lousy yet true Of clichés and standards, standards and standards, This wrong-seeming voice booming from blue.
And in this moment my resolve is doubled, Toeless strength and hope mind-bending, For I thought all the words wrong, wrong and wrong, Since lifelong passion is never-ending. |

| | Junior Senior -- Shake Me Baby | ] | Phone Calls To Arthur Ronald Michael Stephenson
Hi there, Arthur I hope you are well I have a problem with my refrigerator And I need some help.
Y'see I looked you up In the Yellow Pages And it said that you could fix any problem So I thought I'd give you a buzz.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there, Arthur I'm calling again I want to know why you haven't Returned any of my calls
My central heating's gone now And my food doesn't keep Why have you not answered? Should I call someone else?
But it seems no-one else is available In crazy times like this Their work seems good but I can't contact them So you're my only choice.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there, Arthur I hope you're bloody happy My house has fallen down And my children have starved.
I'm calling you now, years after the first I tried calling some others But the lines were all Dead.
Why the hell have you not returned Any calls? Are you a sadist? Just who on Earth do you think you are?
I can hear your breathing at the other end of the line Please answer me now for I cannot survive. Show some compassion. No-one needed this. I should've looked up more recent numbers.
*** I recently watched My Neighbour Totoro and Laputa. Both fecking excellent movies which only increase my adoration of Miyazaki-san. I've also been feeling rather under the weather and I've been lagging behind in school and whatnot, but I'm still reasonably happy (content at the very least) with my place in the world. Every day my static mind flashes with images of how hypocritical and horrible the human race is. I'm starting to really really agree with VHEMT.
My thoughts on the six nations so far: Italy were robbed, Wales should've taken England closer, but it is nice that they did not. |

Not much been going on lately. There's a trampoline up in the backgarden...I had a go on it earlier. I jumped around a bit.
I also made some new music earlier, which I do believe only Joey has heard, other than me. He liked some of it. xD.
I put one of the tracks on my MySpaz. It's the first track in the list. Enjoy! |

| Christmas Livejournal |
[Dec. 25th, 2005|03:53 pm] |
Hello there everybody! It's time for the obligatory LiveJournal Christmas post!
I guess the thing that you're likely to be most interested in is my swag, well, I recieved the following: CD: Super Furry Animals -- Rings Around The World CD: The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band -- Born Into Trouble As The Sparks Fly Upward DVDs: Monty Python Boxset Book: X-TREME LATIN Book: The Holy Moly Rules of Modern Life Coaster made by my 2yr old cousin. £85 (or thereabouts) Bottle of Lynx (up for swopsies with Joe, potentially) and, finally: MAC! Well, my parents word that they'd get me one at least. That's obviously what Mum meant when she said "You do know you're not getting a computer on Sunday, right?". THE TRICKERY! Mum said we'll go out and buy one from John Lewis sometime, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. I shall perhaps make a vow that I shan't post on my LJ again until I get a mac. That sounds fair.
I guess I'll see you then, everyone! Byebye! <333
Grrr...I just tried to put the title of this song in and it doesn't actually fit because it's apparently too long. =( I shall just tell you here that I'm listening to "Sisters! Brothers! Small Boats of Fire Are Falling From The Sky! by A Silver Mt. Zion! XD |

| | CCS Soundtrack -- Release My Heart | ] | I haven't posted in over a week, so an update is due.
Basically, I've gone back to school and at the moment it's going swimmingly. I had a spackout yesterday, but it was in the evening at home and it seems to have been forgotten now, it does prey on my mind a little bit, but not much.
Anyway, yes, back to school! I've started making music again and stuff! and the music department got a load of new stuff while I was away. It seems like a never left, it's funny how that sorta thing happens. |
